January Giveaways

Well we made it another year. There are lots of great books coming in 2013. We decided to do a giveaway of 4 different type of books. Please make sure to read any warnings posted about each book to make sure it’s something you’d read. There will be 4 rafflecopter’s below for you to enter. You can enter all 4 or just for the book you think you might be interested in. Good Luck!!
Crime writer Shayne Reynolds is looking for the next book that will get her out of her parents basement and on track to rebuilding her life. She has found it in Robert Anderson, a confessed murderer who is out on parole. Something has never added up about that case.

From the moment she sets foot in Dark Water, nothing goes as planned. Anderson’s family wants her to drop the story especially the surviving son Des. A man who ignites sizzling heat even as he stands firmly in her way.

Laboring under his father’s crushing legacy and his grandmother’s iron resolve to get rid of the nosy writer at any cost, Des struggles to save the self-destructive sister who once saved him. There is something honest and forthright about Shayne, though, that tempts him to help her get to the truth. Even if it means double-crossing his powerful grandmother.

Despite their resolve to keep it strictly business, sexual sparks quickly set fire to tangled emotions. And threads of a fragile bond that someone with a vendetta could use to weave their death shroud.

Cindy’s thoughts on the book: Hands down the best romantic suspense I’ve read so far in 2013. This book is full of so many evil characters and you never know which ones have crossed that line from just being evil to being murderers. You actually feel the creepiness from the characters as your reading.
Janet’s thoughts on the book: I love a good suspense romance novel and Blood and Bones blew me away!!! It had a little bit of everything, it was creepy, it was spooky, it was mysterious (I feel like I’m singing the Addams Family Theme song) and it had romance!

Warning: Morgan Hannah MacDonald writes Romantic Thrillers that are NOT for the faint of heart. This book contains quite of few graphic violent scenes.

An abandoned house, a psychotic killer, and a victim reaching out from the grave. A woman must unearth deadly family secrets before she becomes a ghost herself.

Madeline Anderson goes to Isabelle Island, Washington, to sell a family home abandoned over forty years before. Bizarre things occur the moment she steps on the property. Inside the dilapidated old house, items move about of their own accord. Strange noises come from empty rooms. She has a vivid, recurring dream of a woman running for her life. The wind rustling through the trees sounds like urgent, murmuring voices. When the cacophony dies down, one single word emerges:

At first, Doug Lindstrom, the hot fireman helping Maddy restore the old home, doesn’t believe anything is going on. He’s certain Maddy is jumping at shadows because she heard the local kids call the house haunted. That is, until he witnesses horrific violence himself that he can’t explain away. After Maddy’s life is threatened not once, but twice, Doug vows there will not be a third time.

While searching for answers, Maddy uncovers astonishing secrets about her aunt’s past. Finding more questions then answers, she digs deeper until she stumbles across evidence of a cold case involving a serial killer nicknamed The Seaside Strangler. Together, Doug and Maddy must unmask a killer. The lives they save just might be their own.
Cindy’s thoughts on the book – I love watching scary movies but it never really interested me to read a scary book. This one blew me away. Its like Poltergeist 1 and 2 and The Entity all rolled into one with a sweet romance around all the craziness.
Janet’s thoughts on the book – A ominously delicious tale of horror and romance

Warning: This book contains F/F elements and a Dominatrix who’s forced to act as a submissive to catch a murderer.

Dominatrix Nina Lockwood makes a comfortable living from well-connected clients who seek her out for her expert brand of disciplinary persuasion. She’s left behind an humble and troubled past to settle in London, and her dominance helps her feel in control of those around her.

But that all changes the day she meets Detective Ian Fleming. He’s been tasked with investigating the disappearance of a socialite last known to be in the company of a secretive society known as The Victorian Underground. Scotland Yard wants Nina to work with Detective Fleming, because she knows the scene. But they want her to go undercover as his submissive.
Cindy’s thoughts on the book: What a great story. Not often you see a Dominatrix especially one as intense as Nina forced to be a submissive to a very dominate Detective Ian Fleming. The suspense part of the book was also interesting as it showed how some BDSM relationships are very unhealthy.
Janet’s thoughts on the book: The story line was very intriguing and had me hooked from the get go (after the shocking first chapter). I love a good romance suspense and Cat and Mouse definitely delivers!!

Emma Lewis has a lot on her plate. The single mother of two precocious twin boys and an aging mother who is having trouble getting through each day, the last thing Emma needs is a man in her life, especially a doctor. So when the town’s doctor goes on vacation and his handsome nephew takes over, Emma is shocked to not only find him standing in her bedroom, but accusing her of being a neglectful parent.

Clint Preston came to Weston for the year to fill in as the town doc while his uncle took a long needed vacation. Clint also needed a sense of peace and calm to try to find his passion for medicine burned out by long shifts in an urban hospital’s ER. Angered to find two boys in his clinic with broken wrists and no accompanying parent, he is determined to confront their mother. The feisty redhead he meets quickly dispels his belief that she’s a neglectful mother, but he can see her situation is more critical than she wishes to face and finds himself volunteering to help care for her sons and the remodeling of her home.

As Emma and Clint forge a relationship among the slightly off-beat characters that inhabit Weston a menace from Emma’s past threatens her and her sons. Clint and Emma join forces to prevent the loss of either boy and the love they’ve discovered in each other’s’ arms.
Cindy’s thoughts on the book: Very sweet contemporary romance with the cutest “cant stay out of trouble” twins and a smidgen of suspense. The author also deals with the subject of a parent having Alzheimer’s and I thought did a very good job of showing what it is like to live with someone with the disease.
