Review of Thrill Ride

He’s Gone Rogue

Ex-Navy SEAL Rock Babineaux’s job is to get information, and he’s one of the best in the business. Until something goes horribly wrong and he’s being hunted by his own government. Even his best friends at the covert special-ops organization Black Knights Inc. aren’t sure they can trust him. He thinks he can outrun them all, but his former partner—a curvy bombshell who knows just how to drive him wild—refuses to cut him loose.

She Won’t Back Down

Vanessa Cordova hasn’t been the team’s communication specialist
very long, but she knows how to read people—no way is Rock guilty of murder. And she’ll go to hell and back to help him prove it. Sure, the sexy Cajun has his secrets, but there’s no one in the world she’d rather have by her side in a tight spot. Which is good, because they’re about to get very tight…

Thrill Ride (Black Knights Inc., #4)Thrill Ride by Julie Ann Walker
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The boys are back in town and they take us for a thrill ride..

This series keeps getting better and better. In this latest we are taken on a harrowing trek through the jungle, lots of humor and some heavy emotional scenes. We knew from previous books that Rock had a secret side job. As this one starts off we find out due to that side job the DOD has now issued a burn order on him and he’s disappeared. Vanessa who’s been Rock’s partner in the past refuses to believe the things he is being accused of, so she and the team decide they are going to find out who set up Rock and find him to bring him back.

There wasn’t one slow moment in the whole book. From the forest in Costa Rica and then back to Chicago it’s none stop edge of your seat suspense.

One thing I really like that this author does is set up the next couple in the series. Becky’s best friend Eve and Becky’s brother Billy, who is part of the Knights, played a big part in this book and I can’t wait for their book.

Tabitha Allen has a not-so-secret crush on Parker “Shy” Cage. Shy thinks he knows the path Tabby’s on and it isn’t a good one. So he decides to teach her a lesson to lead her to the right path.

Unfortunately, he was wrong and his actions wound Tabby, breaking her heart. It’s Tabby who then teaches Shy a lesson about casting judgment and Shy Cage learns what it feels like to be invisible. But when tragedy strikes and Tabby’s heart is broken again, Shy does what he can in the background to help. Trying to forget her heartbreak, Tabby finds herself in danger. To keep it secret from her biker family, the Chaos Motorcycle Club, she calls Shy to rescue her. But when she lets him back in, she gets much more than she bargained for.

Riding to Sunset by Jaci Burton – LOVED IT..

I’ve always wanted General Grange Lee to get his own story. He doesn’t get a woman but this is about his sister and his niece. The General has hired a new man for the team and after a harrowing mission with Diaz the General ask Jed Templeton to go on a personal mission with him. His sister is missing and while he is looking for her he wants Jed to protect his niece Elena. These two are instantly attracted to each other and seem perfect for one another – problem is Jed is lying about who he is and she has no clue she even has a uncle.

It was great seeing most of the Wild Riders at the beginning of the book – miss those guys and their women. It was also great to see a more personal side to the General. Would love more books in this series.

Nauti Siren by Lora Leigh

This one is part of the new series about Dawg’s sisters. Piper Mackay has had it with her brother and cousins over protectiveness that’s to the point of smothering them to death. When she gets a letter that a New York fashion designer wants to meet with her in NY she sneaks off without telling anyone where she is going. If you know Mackay women you know this mean they are walking into a world of trouble. Jedediah Booker who’s been saying at the Mackay Bed and Breakfast has had a hard time keeping his hands off of Piper while also allowing her to have to space. When things go bad in NY he is the one that gets the call to go and get her.

Since this was a short story I was able to enjoy this one more than her full length books of late.
