The Suit by V.R. Marks

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

First off can I say I love the cover of this book? Reminds me of Raylan from Justified – yummy.. OK now on to the review.

I feel like I’ve been on the writing journey with VR since the first book. Each book just gets better and better and the characters feel like family and I love reading their stories. We got a glimpse into the plot of this story in Saving Christmas Day which left us with a bit a cliff hanger. This book picks up right after that with FBI Special Agent Dale Nichols realizing he should have taken the information that Heather Morris gave him against a man the FBI has been trying to bring down a little more seriously and instead has probably put a bull’s eye on her. To try and take some of the heat off of her he decides they should pretend they are engaged to throw them off while he tried to get when he needs to bring him down.

Needless to say this did not go over to well with her brother JC.. Heather is a little younger than Dale but she’s a feisty one and these two together were humorous. He’s a straight laced suit wearing FBI man and she’s a free spirited animal loving waitress who’s hiding a very intelligent mind.

There are some pretty gruesome things the bad guys do in this book. Not to give the plot away but this sick thing does happen in the real world and I will never understand it. Heather and Dale make a great team as they work together to bring down the players that are part of the crime ring. During all of this Dale tries his hardest to resist his attraction to Heather. Yeah you know how well that goes..
