Reviews of Roped In and Lost In You by Lorelei James

Ambition has always been his biggest downfall…until he meets her. World champion bulldogger Sutton Grant works hard on the road, but his quiet charm has earned the nickname “The Saint” because he’s never been the love ‘em and leave ‘em type with the ladies. When he’s sidelined by an injury, he needs help keeping his horse in competition shape, but he fears trying to sweet-talk premier horse trainer London Gradsky is a losing proposition–because the woman sorta despises him. London is humiliated when her boyfriend dumps her for a rodeo queen. What makes the situation worse? She’s forced to see the lovebirds on the rodeo circuit every weekend. In an attempt to save face, London agrees to assist the notoriously mild, but ruggedly handsome Sutton Grant with his horse training problem on one condition: Sutton has to pretend to be her new boyfriend. But make believe doesn’t last long between the sassy cowgirl and the laid-back bulldogger. When the attraction between them ignites, London learns that sexy Sutton is no Saint when that bedroom door closes; he’s the red-hot lover she’s always dreamed of. The more time they spend together, the more Sutton realizes he wouldn’t mind being roped and tied to the rough and tumble cowgirl for real…

Have to say the men in the Blacktop Cowboy series are seriously steppin up to the plate to give them McKay’s a run for top swoon worthy. Sutton Grant was wonderful surprise of a man. You have a man who has been a world champion bulldogger and instead of being a man ho he’s known as The Saint and in some ways is pretty shy about the limelight and could care less about banging buckle bunnies. But once we see how the man kisses and loves a give a little spanking in the bedroom – that there is a darn close to perfect man in my humble opinion.

As I sit here I can seriously find no fault with this book. The romance, story and the two worlds of rodeo and guns were perfectly written. I believe both of those subjects are things the author is big fans of and it showed in the book.

Animal attraction takes on a whole new meaning… Lacy Buchanan sets out to prove she’s a tough cookie by swapping the mean streets of Manhattan for the Bighorn Mountains in Wyoming for a week-long survivalist hiking trip. The last thing she needed was to get lost, forcing her to spend the hike alone with surly, too-sexy mountain man, Becker, who blames her for their predicament. After Becker saves her from a rattlesnake and calms her fears, Lacy has a change of heart and feels lucky to be in his experienced hands. But Sam Becker isn’t really a hiking expert; he’s strictly the moneyman in Back To Nature Guided Hiking Tours and a last minute, temporary fill-in guide. He can’t believe his bad luck when his lag-behind charge—a mouthy, but hot, blonde bombshell—pulverizes their only compass, destroying their chances of following the coordinates to base camp. Yet something about Lacy makes him want uphold her ideal image that he’s her rugged hero and a man she can count on. As Sam and Lacy attempt to find a way out of the treacherous mountain passes, their natural instincts take them farther away from civilized behavior and straight into the mating calls of the wild. *Previously published as Babe in the Woods, 2006 - now with a new epilogue!

Its always interesting to read one of the earlier books of an authors before they got famous for a particular series. This is a re-release of a book from 2006 and it a short contemporary romance. One thing this author has always been good at is the snarky comments between her couples. Lacy and Sam are lost in the woods together thanks to Lacy. They were on a survivalist hiking trip and Lacy wondered off and got lost and Sam who she thinks is one of the hiking guides of the group finds her but they get separated from the main group. Turns out Sam is just helping his cousin out for the summer and isn’t any better at knowing how to find his way out the woods any better than Lacy is. These two start off on the wrong foot but it isn’t long before they are sharing a sleeping bag and making all the animals in the forest blush.

This was a quick read and an epilogue was added to this release and not having read it the first time around I think it really added to the story.
