Goblins From the Past: A Romantic Halloween Short Story by Jocie McKade
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A short Halloween coming home story. Gina left home 5 years ago pregnant and alone after those she trusted the most – her father and boyfriend – basically shunned her for the unplanned pregnancy.

She never had any plans of coming back but she couldn’t deny her brother’s request for help with their father when he has an accident. Life wasnt through throwing Gina hard knocks though when her son is involved in an accident that almost takes his life on all hollows eve. The only bright spot is the paramedic that was part of saving his life is her nerdy best friend Michael from high school and the only friend that never judged her even though when she left town she never contacted him again.

This was a little darker from the authors usual stories but Gina certainly deserved to find someone to love her unconditionally and Michael does his best to show her he’s that man.
