This was a head spinning game of who done it. And I mean that in a good way. You were kept guessing until the very end.

Deputy Sheriff Royce McCall catches someone who broke into his family’s cabin. It turns out to be Sophie Conway, a childhood acquaintance (not friends as they had never really liked each other)and she’s in her nightgown pointing a gun at him yelling dont kill me. A month before the two of them had been at a party together and gotten really drunk and ended up in a motel room. Neither of them remembers what really happened once they got to the room. But Sophie uses this as a way to get out of marrying a man she doesnt want to marry when she finds out he has been doing shady deals. But those shady deals also include her father and possibly her half brother too.

From here Royce and Sophie are constantly on the run from people trying to shoot them. No one is above suspicion. Is it her her ex-fiance, her father, her half brother, or are there more involved. You are page turning as fast as you can through all the action to get to the end to figure out what is going on.

I really enjoyed this fast paced book and it would have been pretty much a 5 star book if it would have had an epilogue.

An equal blend of mystery, suspense and romance.

In the first book in the series we find out that someone is killing EOD agents. All of the evidence so far points to Cale Lane, which has brought the Shadow Agents to the small Texas town where his sister lives.

Veronica Lane hasn’t heard from her brother in 6 months. No matter what kind of missions he was on he always managed to contact during his time away. When she finds out that one his is army ranger buddies is at the town bar she decides to go and ask him for help in figuring out what could have happened to her brother.

Jasper Adams came to town posing as a mercenary hoping to get information on Cale and also knowing that Cale loved his sister that he would eventually show up. What he had not counted on was Veronica coming to him for help and his libido to sudden kick in on wanting things he knew he had no business wanting being the type of man he was. He also knew even if he did start something with Veronica it would go very far once she found out he was lying to her about why he was really there.

The whole team is back and when more murders start to happen that still point to Cale they are in a race to try and stop him before someone else is killed. But things are not always as they seem and with Veronica’s determination to prove her brother isn’t the killer brings up a lot of questions and also keeps putting her life in danger.

Will the team and Jasper figure out what is really going on before more agents or Veronica is killed?? The mystery was a good one in this book and keeps you guessing till towards the end.

I have to say that the build up between Gunner and Sydney is hot. I am totally expecting there book to rock!!

An intriguing suspense full of action and romance.

This book is the definition of intrigue – the plans to do something illicit or detrimental to someone.

Jessica Delaney has not had an easy life. She was pushed around from foster home to foster home for most of her life. She was happy when he finally landed a job as an accountant. What she didn’t know is the company she worked for was owned by a mob boss. After trying to secretly gather information for the FBI her friend and co-worker is killed by the man thinking she was the traitor. She was put into Witness Protection until the trial. But when it ended in a mistrial she was then put into Witness Security where the first of many attempts on her life were made.

Ryan Jackson the U.S. Marshal assigned to protect Jessica didn’t like her from what he had read. He assumed she had been in bed with the mob and was only here because things got to scary after the death of her friend. His feelings are made even worse when 4 U.S. Marshals who were his friend died trying to protect her. But Ryan is an honorable man who would never let his feelings get in the way of protecting a witness.

After more attempts on Jessica’s life these two have to go on the run through the mountains to escape many assassins. Its through this trek that the two come to learn about the other and realize that maybe there first impressions of each other was wrong.

There are lots of suspenseful movements through out this book and Jessica and Ryan are both character you come to love and root for during the book.

Seven years ago the Seattle Strangler had killed 6 women. By a miracle the 7th, Lara Church was found alive but had no memory of what happened. She went on to change her hair color and move around a lot finally settling in Texas when her grandmother left her house to her when she died. Then the killing start again a little to close to home.

James Beck is a Texas Ranger who is just coming off of paid administration leave. Beck is a man that when he gets a feeling or idea he cant let it go and even though that solved a missing 10 year old girls case the higher ups didnt like his hot-dogging ways. His first case back from leave is a dead woman who’s death is reminding the Ranger of the Strangler victims.

Once the book takes off there are many twist and turns to find out who the killer is but these books are so much better when no spoilers are given. The shock and surprises are the best part.
